Christmas in Ealing 1962

The world had just breathed a collective sigh of relief when the resolution of the Cuban missile crisis had averted a catastrophic world war.

In Britain Elvis Presley was top of the Christmas hit parade with Return to Sender whilst a little known group from Liverpool had just had its first top twenty hit with Love Me Do. Also, the Ealing Club had opened its doors earlier in the year just opposite Ealing Broadway Station.

So what else was happening in Ealing? Paul Fitzmaurice has been finding out.
